TATIANA SILVIA SAINZ
/biography
/about
Born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1976. She moved with her family to Florida in 1984. Tatiana is a diverse artist working in an array of media including painting, graphic design, photography, digital video art, printmaking and installation. The thematic expressions of her works consist of images from nature. Her paintings and photographs particularly portray the unique forms of trees whether illustrated in realistic terms or more of a subjective manner. Her present work includes an integration of mixed media, typography and photography. The subject matter mostly deals with issues pertaining to women and the environment. Her work as an exhibiting artist spans for more than 20 years.
She is currently a high school Art teacher for Conroe Independent School District. She worked as a fulltime art instructor in Miami-Dade County Public Schools from 2003 to 2012. She also worked on various free-lance projects with local artists as well as companies using the medium of video art and public art. She was selected as the 2009 Secondary Art Educator of the Year by Florida Art Education Association and became a National Board Certified Teacher in Art/Early Adolescence-Young Adulthood category. Tatiana was on sabbatical from teaching in order to refocus on her artistic career while residing in Nassau, Bahamas from 2012 to 2017. She is the CEO of Art-X-Change, a private art school teaching to both children and adults. She currently resides in Spring, Texas.
